A glimpse into my inner word and life

I’ve always been deeply curious about people and connection, and I feel fortunate to have experienced love that’s been both steady and meaningful - from my family, and in the relationships I’ve chosen with intention. I’m someone who notices what others might overlook: a shift in tone, a subtle expression, the emotion beneath the words. I value clarity, but I don’t rush to conclusions. I’m drawn to the complexity of human experience - whether it’s within relationships, emotional patterns, or the larger questions of how we create lives that feel meaningful and real.

Outside of therapy, I teach at Erasmus University, where I lecture in the Clinical Psychology Department - work that keeps me connected to new ideas and grounded in the science of relationships. In my personal life, I recharge through movement, time in nature, and conversations that leave space for reflection, laughter, and honesty.

This is what working with me looks like

You might wonder what it’s like to work with me. I often describe it like running a marathon with a supportive companion - not someone shouting from the sidelines, but someone jogging just off to the side, keeping pace. I’m there to cheer you on when you find your rhythm, and offer a gentle breath of perspective when the path gets hard. Sometimes I’ll give you a high-five, other times a soft nudge forward - but always with care.

Mission

My mission is to foster love - the kind that is chosen, tended to, and grown over time.

I see how many people long for closeness, but struggle to find it, build it, or keep it. And honestly, it makes me sad how many go through life without ever really feeling the depth that love and connection can bring.

For a long time, I thought love would just show up when the time was right. But through my own experiences, and the many stories I’ve been trusted to hold, I’ve learned that love isn’t something we just fall into. It’s something we learn, choose, and keep showing up for.

That quiet ache for connection is something I recognize deeply, and it’s part of what keeps me drawn to this work. That quiet thread runs through so much of what I witness, and it’s what continues to draw me to this work.

While love isn’t always easy, I believe it is deeply worth it.
